About Snow Crafts
Snow Crafts began as Scentiments in 1982 when Catherine Snow quickly sewed 50 cards with oval cutouts to share during a Sunday School lesson at church. When the women fawned over her design, she knew she had created something one-of-a-kind and took it to the Dallas stationery market. After her success there, she began designing different cutouts: three balloons, a heart, a Christmas tree, and dozens of other elegant silhouettes.
By 1987, Scentiments had eight employees and was shipping wholesale to international markets, including Japan, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, Mexico, Australia, and Bermuda. In 1989, Snow won the Louie Award for the Easter category at the first annual International Greeting Card Awards Celebration in New York City for her pink and white dotted Swiss bunny. Business was booming until 1990, when her partners attempted to push her out of her own company. She sued them for breach of contract and received a settlement, but it took a toll on Snow. She shuttered Scentiments for several years while she raised her six children, survived cancer, and moved twice to support her husband’s professional goals.
Now, she’s ready to sell again and delight customers the way she always has. This time, however, she’s operating under the name Snow Crafts and has plans to update her inventory with new fabrics, packaging, and designs. She intends to win even more awards in the coming years.
